Self hypnosis

I mean wow!

I just tried it for the first time. At first I felt really ridiculous, but then I just stopped thinking, like my brain had fallen asleep, can't remember anything about the ten minutes I stayed it the deep hypnosis. Only when the tape said the number three of the waking up program I realised time had passed. So twenty minutes program, and I feel like I've slept for two hours, without the grogginess of naps.

Now to cook some rice for lunch and some more meditating in the evening. o/

Really been a while

Yes, I'm really lazy to write journals or blogs...
Lots and lots has happened, so I really haven't had time to think about writing it down. -.-

So, I've moved to Joensuu, started university and been extra-busy these two months. I've already had two exams and been to Lahti only once. I'll be going to visit my sister in Tampere in a month and back to Lahti for Christmas.

Monday will be Samhain, but I'm celebrating it tomorrow already, 'cause I've got school on Monday. And the we're having a Halloween party on Wednesday.

Anyway, I've had some hard times adjusting here and my panic attacks got a bit worse for it, but I'm looking into some alternative medications, and most of the time I'm okay. It's only when my hormone balance is whacked... meaning once a month... there's a risk. It's just annoying, nothing else... -.-

Now, on a lighter note, I really like living on my own. My place's wonderful, if a bit expensive. My neighbours can be a bit noisy sometimes, but not too much. I've met some great people here and been having wonderful time with them. I don't know, all in all, I think the good outweighs the bad and I really enjoy my lessons and lectures.

I'm really hyped about tomorrow and all I'm really going to do is meditate and eat well and burn candles the whole day. I really felt like I was preparing for Christmas for all the shopping and baking I did. ^^''
So, I write again before Yule, I think... when I get back home, at the latest.

Moving tomorrow

Oh my god x 10!

I can't believe I'm really, seriously going to move out tomorrow. On Tuesday I had no idea I'd be having a place of my own so soon.
Okay, so the rent's ridiculous, but I'll survive and the view is worth it, towards the river. I'll probably be living there at least a year, hopefully.
School's going to start next Thursday, so I'm a bit nervous about that too, but studying is my second nature, so it's okay. Going to meet lots of new people... And you all know how good I am at making friends. Yikes!

The funny thing is, that although I'm moving tomorrow, I'll only get my furniture there on the 10th... I'll be sleeping on a mattress and having my things in the boxes. And I'm not even sure if I'll have electricity there 'til next week. -.-
And Internet? Don't even mention it! I've no idea what would be a good option for me - cheap enough and fast enough. I'll manage with the public net the library and university have. And maybe there's a neighbouring wireless I could leech off of before I get my own. XP

So I won't be very active online for a while, I think.

University calls!

I'm so happy, I can't stay still!

I just got a letter from University of Eastern Finland that I got in. From a queue, no less. - I had already given up, really, so I was really surprised.
I'll study English language and culture. <3

The only thing that worries me a bit is that I'll have to find a place to live in Joensuu in three weeks time, as school starts on the 1st of September. Yikes!
Luckily the tutors had written in their letter that if I don't succeed in finding a place, I can bunk in with them for a while.

So, yeah... I'm hyped up about my changing life.

Bloody computer games and being adult!

It's really, really difficult to try to mix both...
I'm so busy arranging my new life as an unemployed adult, and for some reason it really uses my energy. *ugh*
I've been running around, looking at apartments, to the unemployment office and looking for a job - or something else to do - and trying to make ends meet...

I've also knitted a lot; my bolero jacket is about halfway done and I just today bought new yarn for a large scarf thingie.

I'm in Star Wars fandom mode now, have been for the last two weeks, actually and it's really fun. I can't wait to get to start the RPG we've got planned. *hype*
I also played SW: KotOR again. It's been a good while, and I almost already got off the bloody Taris. I've been stuck there for ages! And now I got stuck to the bloody mini shooter game! ARGH!
I'll shut up now, 'cause no one's interested anyway. XP

So, nothing's happened, really. And I'm getting a bit bored. XD

Who-ee

Been one heck of a week, this.

Monday was a lazy day. Which means we didn't do anything.
On Tuesday Mum and I went to see the last Harry Potter film. It was very good. 13 years of waiting is now officially over. Wow. What next?

And on Wednesday I traveled to Helsinki to see X-men: first class. That was also brilliant. Loved the actors, loved the characters. loved everything.
But it was an eventful trip right from the beginning. First, my bike's chain got loose, but luckily that happened close to a little coffee kiosk, so I asked one of the customers to help me - after trying to do it myself for over five minutes. He fixed it in about a minute. -.-
And after a bit I saw an old man lying on the grass by the road. It was a hot, sunny day, so I of course stopped to ask if he was okay. Luckily he was, but he did tell me that I was on the right track, waking him up and asking. That made me feel good.
Okay, the train trip was quite uneventful and the rest of my stay in Helsinki was normal; a few pamphlet throwers, too many people etc. but I had fun.
And on the way back, I woke up a man who almost slept past his stop. I'd heard where he was supposed to get off the train, but he didn't wake when the announcement came.
All in all, I felt happy, helpful and dead tired, when I got home.

Thursday was again a lazy day. I did absolutely nothing. I was still tired and my thighs were killing me, so I couldn't walk properly. I'm finding muscles I didn't know I had. -.-

And yesterday - Friday - we cleaned the house, because we had some guests coming. Mum's friends. I decided to tag along, because the food sounded so delicious and I felt lazy.
They brought a little seven-year-old girl with them, so I did have something to do. She was so sweet, a bit shy. I made her a little pink dragon amigurumi and she loved it.
She was taken home after dinner and I buried myself in my room. Mum, dad and the guys seemed to have fun. And I had fun listening to them.
I went to bed around two - or half past - and they still continued in the back yard.

This morning I woke around ten thirty and mum and dad were still sleeping. XD
Usually I wake up last.
I'm expecting this to be another lazy day. Might go for a swim, though, if it doesn't rain.

Busy Doing Nothing

It's funny how I manage not to have time, when I've really nothing to do...

I never finish the things I'm supposed to... But where does the time go? I mean, really.

Okay, I've been crocheting and drawing a bit and I've watched like a million films and everything, but there was so much more I was supposed to do last week, and I can't remember them anymore. XP

Today I went to the unemployment office and though I waited about an hour, it didn't feel that bad - I had my Pratchett with me, after all. Then I went to the library and lent some more City Watch -books (I love Vimes).
And after that, I went to buy new gumboots. And finally got around to buy some cotton filling for my amigurumi and found the safety eyes, too. ^_^

Here are the thingies I've made recently:
Medama Oyaji for a friend, a little blue monkey for my cousin and a pygmy puff and a bedbug for myself.
A blue bunny for my sister, Cthulhu for her fiancé and two mascot babies.

Midsummer's

Yeah, I'm really, really unreliable blogger. -.-

DesuCon came and went... It was a blast.

Anyway, been very busy and I've still many things to do. This weekend, though, I've done absolutely nothing.

I've had friends over - five of them - and we've had too much fun, watching films, eating good food, and talking. And we even went to see the midsummer bonfire over at the harbour, although it'd been a rainy day, but luckily it didn't rain all the while we were out.

Now we're talking about BL (<3) and I've been crocheting amigurumis all day. ^_^

Summer vacation.

For a week, anyway.

Had my last entrance exam this Monday. I'm so glad it's over for now. Next Monday I'll start work at the library, but that will only be fun.

So, what's happened since I came home from Cambridge?
Not very much to tell the truth... School's over and I know I'll miss the girls terribly. I'll miss the teacher's too!
My  brain feels like a wring-dried towel or a sponge... So, at the moment, I'm not very good at thinking. :P

Today I was going to lie in our back yard to get some sun, but it turns out a squirrel family has taken over the pavilion and I really don't want to get bitten by one of them. I mean, they're cute and all, but could they please move somewhere else! We can't even use the grill, 'cause the mother squirrel is stupid!
>.<
Idiot animal! If tomorrow is this warm and beautiful, I'll hit the beach. At least there I don't have to worry about small mammals chewing my toes off...

But I won't be going for a swim, because I've got my period right now... And it's really the most painful thing ever. They've never hurt this much before. First it was my back, I couldn't even walk properly and now it's my stomach and I think I should go lie down a bit. -.-

All packed and ready to go...

... The problem is that I don't want to go!

Tonight I will be out late, having fun with my mates all over Cambridge... And tomorrow morning, at seven thirty, a taxi will come and pick me up from this host family.

I'll write a longer entry Saturday evening when I'm home. Right now I don't really feel like writing, I'm too sad. T.T

Day 11 - leaving blues

Today we got our certificates from school. But I still can't get my head around the fact that I'm going to leave... I don't want to leave!

After school we had a walk to Grantchester, on the countryside. We walked through a park - a very lush park - and on the paddies with some cows. They were so cute!
We had tea at a pavilion there - there was a plaque near the door that Virginia Woolf (among others) had been one of their customers.

Need to find a recipe to scones. These were delicious!
Good tea in good company! <3
I'll seriously miss the nature here - and those roses! They're huge and everywhere! I want!

Day 10 - some me time

The Grafton Centre - a cheaper shopping centre.

A view from a park on the way back to the centre of the city.
Not much to tell about today...

Had debates at school... it was surprisingly fun, especially as me and Richard agreed on most points. XD
Which reminds me, I have to do my homework.

After school we caught a bus to the Grafton Centre and to Primark. I bought myself sweat pants and a matching top, for only eight pounds. Then I walked back to the centre and went browsing to the market place; bought some nice bracelets for myself and then went to Starbucks.
There I sat, reading Dorian Gray and sipping my coffee, until I had to come back home for dinner. Nice day!

And I already packed, so I could be sure that my suitcase isn't over-weight and it isn't. Only 16 kg and we're allowed something like 20 kg. \o/

Off to take a shower now and to watch a film after that.

Punting and more pubs

Yeah, the sore throat turned into a proper cold. Oh well, I've got medicine, so I'll be fine, it'll be over in a few days anyway. XP

Today me and a couple of others had been moved from the group to another, because there were so many of us. This new teacher, Ray, was brilliant! He's funny and we really get to talk in his classes. And he really pays attention on what's happening.

After school - and lunch - we went punting.
The boats are really steady.

The Mill Pond and one of the punters.
We had our own "punter" - or whatever they're called and he was a real Prince Charming. Funny, nice and good looking, too.

As you can see, it wasn't that warm a day. XP Or didn't feel like one, anyway.

King's College. View from the river.

Punt traffic.

The Bridge of Sighs. A copy of the one in Venice.

The Bridge of Sighs from the other side.

After finishing the tour on Cam - that's what the river is called - we had a little time to ourselves. I bought rest of my souvenirs; I'll just have to buy some tea for myself tomorrow and then I'm ready. ^^ And I bought this Ghosts caught on film book from the Haunted Bookshop.

And then we went to listen to the Evensong to the King's College chapel; it was so beautiful I had shivers running down my spine the whole time. Then we went to eat at the Avery - yet another pub.

And on my way to home, when I sneezed at the bus, this one woman just called "Bless you!" from the other side of the corridor. I love the people here!
I think the politeness is one of the things I'll miss, when I come home.

Day 8 - dead tired

I've been dead tired today, so no photographs. -.-

I think I'm also coming down with a cold. So not nice.
Can't really remember much about school, but after it I went to buy postcards and on the way back I bought a Tron DVD-box. It has both of the films in it.

At he moment, I'm watching the original Tron and writing the cards. I'll soon go to bed. Hope I'll feel better in the morning. -.-

Stratford-upon-Avon & Warwick Castle

You wouldn't think that after three and a half hours of sleep you'd be as good as new and ready for a new day. But there I was! Woke up before my alarm went off and was in perfect condition to take off again.

We left for Stratford at ten from our school and the trip there took us about two hours by coach (bus). I think I slept most of the drive, 'cause I can't remember anything about it.

This is my first view of the old centre of Stratford.

We were there for a couple of hours, did a bit of shopping and acted like tourists - polite ones, that is. I bought myself Shakespeare's sonnets and Much ado about nothing DVD and some souvenirs.

The river Avon. There were a lot of swans there.

Now that's one big tree!

Holy Trinity Church, the place where the Bard is buried.

From upper left: Shakespeare's birth home, the garden of the same house, the Eagle pub (a crooked house) where he probably spent time and Shakespeare's grave in the church.

Shakespeare's school; the King Edward VI School.

The main door of the school. It's still a school, by the way.
Then back to bus and on to Warwick Castle. I had high hopes for the place and really, I wasn't disappointed. I would've wanted to be there longer, though.

Midlands' landscapes. Just beautiful.

First view of the Castle. I was speechless.

I think some of Merlin has been filmed here, because part of  the castle seem familiar to me.

The mandatory tourist shot. XP
The Mound. Probably the most beautiful part of the Castle.

First stop for me was of course the Castle Dungeon. The tour was exiting, and a bit scary. There were all these actors in costumes and they guided us from room to room by inviting us in and showing us different things.
The Black Jester.
That guy was our first guide, who led us into the first chamber. Then there was this monk who preached us about the plague, after that the Castle's cook was doing an autopsy on the recently dead doctor. XD She was hilarious, pulling out his organs - she liked to talk about "losing your bits" - and spilling the inside of his bladder all over us.
After that it was off to the torture chamber, where this torturer locked one girl in a cage and picked a volunteer to show off what he could do. After that we went to court. And were sentenced. Then a labyrinth and then to the execution ground.
One man was selected as the traitor and he was to be beheaded, but the poor executioner missed and the man "lost" an ear. XD
The people on the tour were really nice and not very scared - except one little girl (who was too young to be there anyway) - and played along very well with the actors, especially at the court room scene.

Anyway, after that I went through the Kingmaker exhibition and then to the tallest tower - Guy's tower.
Some of the dolls in there. They're Tussaud's, by the way.

I can't invent anything to say about those pictures I took in the Guy's tower. I was so stunned myself.

After climbing down my legs wouldn't stop shaking, so I had to leave to the café outside. It was half an hour before we had agreed to meet our guide.
Again I slept most of the way back to Cambridge and now I'm off to bed. And if I do anything tomorrow - other than go to school - you can call me crazy! I'm beat.
